Known World Novel Book 2. Uncontrolable Identity: Brennans Story -Mia Let's Go

Mia exhaled loudly. For the first time in a long while she was able to rest. There was no one around her for miles; no judgemental eyes or mouths to remind her of her appearance. She lay back against the smooth trunk of the Nuytis tree, revelling in the warmth of the sun as it filtered down onto her through the tree tops of The Eastern Forest.
The reptilian part of her was over come by the urge to sleep in the sun, but her instilled instincts made that an almost impossible task for the ex-Wing Rider. Though she felt alone, she never felt safe.
It was a strange sensation, the two forces trapped inside her struggling within her mind and body to find peace. Eclipse had always been so care-free and simply wild at heart, while Mia, known once by the name Layla and by the name Skyler even before that, was slightly highly-strung and continually plagued by thoughts for the worse.
Peace would come though; in time.
The thought of Eclipse made Mia neither happy nor sad at that moment. The dragon felt like a distant dream, much like her life before the discovery of her fore-told destiny. She placed a hand on the bulge of her stomach; within her was one more force at work.
Mia feared that at any moment her body would be ripped open from the inside. She was scared of the creature developing within her. There was no telling how much or how little time Mia actually had before the creature would be ready to come into The Known World.
She looked up through the over growth, the slit pupils of her purple-blue eyes diminishing in to tiny specs. She had felt the sudden change in whether before the first rain drop fell through the gaps in the leaves the sun had occupied a moment before. It splashed onto her clawed foot and ran down over her ankle, catching the remaining sun light and shimmered against the purple scales that covered Mia’s body.
Mia exhaled loudly. For the first time in a long while she smiled and reminisced of the time before she had left Alekandria, a time she had been so happy and carefree. A time when the scales that were now slick with rain belonged to Eclipse and Layla.
She knew that part of her life was over and she felt free in that moment to let go, and she felt ready to welcome what ever came next in her terribly mixed up life.
"I'm always ready..."
